Kenya Darlene Wynn, 57, of Holts Summit, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at the University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia. She was born July 29, 1954, in Jefferson City, Missouri, a daughter of Kenneth Irvin and Grace Arlene (Waggoner) Raithel. She was a 1972 graduate of Hoover High School in Glendale, California, and went on to graduate from Questa College in San Luis Obispo, California in 1978. On July 15, 1989, Kenya was united in marriage in La Pine, Oregon, to James "Jim" Howard Wynn, who preceded her in death on June 8, 1997. Kenya was a childcare professional and worked at Big Top Child Development Center in Jefferson City for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit. Family and friends meant everything to Kenya. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Kenya enjoyed many things; she was passionate about teaching and children, but above everything, her greatest love and joy is her five grandchildren. She is survived by two sons: Kenneth J. Wynn (wife Christine) of Jefferson City; Kelly G. Wynn (wife Relda) of Jefferson City; two daughters: Kara S. Dyer (husband Bradley) of Columbia; Kassie M. Wynn of Jefferson City; her father: Kenneth I. Raithel of Holts Summit; seven siblings: Barbara Nahler (husband Uli) of Germany; Kevin Raithel (wife Debby) of Camdenton; Keith Raithel (wife Heather) of Grover Beach, Calif.; Kyle Raithel (wife Patti) of Linn Creek; Kirk Raithel (wife Zoe) of Paso Robles, Calif.; Kristi Williams (husband Jeff) of Pismo Beach, Calif.; Keri Cash of Holts Summit; five grandchildren: Ahsante Wynn, Kelly Wynn, Quinten Wynn, Kadence Wynn and Kayleigh Wynn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her husband Jim, Kenya was also preceded in death by her mother: Grace A. Raithel. Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2011, at the Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Holts Summit. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1: 30 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2011, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit, with Fr. Brendan P. Doyle officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Andrew Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Marfan Foundation, 22 Manhasset Avenue; Port Washington, NY 11050.
