Mary Lea (Bellamy) Lehman

Mary Lea (Bellamy) Lehman, 79, of California, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011, at the Moniteau Care Center in California. She was born March 24, 1932, the fourth of nine children born to Louis and Jennie (Allee) Bellamy, who preceded her in death. Mary Lea graduated from Eldon High School In 1951 and married Dorsey Lee Lehman on June 30 of that same year. He survives at their home in California. Mary became a Christian at the age of 12 and a member of High Point Baptist Church. She retired after 41 years at California Manufacturing. Besides her family, her passions in life were cooking, canning, gardening and giving to her family and a multitude of friends from the labor of her hands. (Nothing quite like a meal from Mary's table.) Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Michael Lee and Lorna Hahn Lehman of Jefferson City; one grandson, Joshua Michael Lehman of St. Louis; one granddaughter, Michaela Jane (Lehman) Fender; and one great-grandson, Ethan Fender, also from Jefferson City. Other survivors include: sisters, Carol (Mrs. Ron Beard) of Centralia, and Corine Bellamy of Wisconsin; brothers, Paul (wife Amy) Bellamy, Centralia, and Glen (wife Marilyn) Bellamy, Clinton. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: infant Jerry Dale and Gene Bellamy; and two sisters: Norma Ruth (Mrs. Norman Kays) and Faye (Mrs. Don Melton). Visitation will be Sunday, July 24, 2011, at the Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home in California from 4 6 p.m. Funeral Services will be Monday, July 25, 2011, at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the California City Cemetery. Officiating will be Ron Beard. Memorials are suggested to Alzheimers Association or the Cornerstone Baptist Church Building Fund, 118 W. Sneed, Centralia, MO 65240. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak St., California, MO 65018.
