Lula Mae Glover, 87, of Fulton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at the University Hospital, Columbia. She was born March 26, 1924, in Hatton, the daughter of Benjamin and Evelyn Smallwood Buckner, who preceded her in death. Lula Mae was married to John "Wilbur" Glover on July 29, 1946 in Fulton. He survives at the home. She attended school in central Callaway County. She worked as a Supervisor of Food Services for Bingham Hall at the University of Missouri-Columbia where she retired in 1989 after 26 years of service. She was later employed with Gasper's Restaurant in Kingdom City until its closing in 2007. Lula Mae was a member of Old Richland Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved flowers and enjoyed working in her garden. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by one son, John M. Glover (Norma) of Holts Summit; one brother, Ralph Buckner of Springfield, Ill.; three grandsons, John M. Glover Jr. (Michelle) of Rockledge, Fla., Craig M. Glover Sr. of Jefferson City, and Blake M. Glover (Olga) of Las Cruces, N.M.; three brothers-in-law, Russell Glover, Willard Glover (Jesse) and Donnie Glover all of Fulton; two sisters-in-law, Leona Hamilton of Kansas City and Alice Buckner of Mexico; nine great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Eunice Garrett of Kingdom City; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Emma Virginia Glover; two sisters, Kathryn Payne and Hortense Gannoway; and two brothers, Marvin Buckner and Thomas Buckner. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2011, at the Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton. The Reverend Charles Black will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Maupin Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fulton.
