Norma Jean Oesterly, 86, of California, Mo., passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011, at the Moniteau Care Center in California, Mo. She was born on August, 18, 1924, the daughter of Wardley and Maude (Senior) Francis who preceded her in death. She was married to Gail Oesterly on March 28, 1950, in California, Mo. of whom survives. Norma Jean attended Norman Country School. She worked with her husband on the family farm from 1950-1993, and also worked at California Manufacturing for 11 years, owned Oesterly Trailer Sales for 12 years and after retiring and moving to town she worked for D&R plants and Putnam Chevrolet. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Debbie Oesterly of Jefferson City, Mo; one brother, Dale Francis of California, Mo.; two sisters, Viola Papen of High Point, Mo. and Gloria Crawford the state of Georgia. She is preceded in death by one sister, Marion Jenkins and one brother, John Francis. Funeral services will be Monday, July 18, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. Officiating will be Pastor Josh Hartley. Burial will be at the California City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Friendship Baptist Church, c/o Bowlin Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak St., California Mo 65018. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services.
