Ruth L. Williams

Mrs. Ruth L. Williams, age 76 years, of Centertown, Mo., passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011, at her home.
She was born on May 8, 1934, in Independence, Calif., the daughter of Irvin and Nellie Lydston Wilder. She was married on March 14, 1959, in Long Beach, Calif., to Emmett M. Williams, who preceded her in death on May 31, 2007. A homemaker, Ruth also operated a home day care for 10 years in Norco, Calif. After her husband retired in 1987, Ruth and Emmett moved to Farmington, Mo., to be closer to his family. In 1999, they decided to move to Centertown to be closer to their children. Ruth always enjoyed spending time with her family and cherished those years. Survivors include: two sons, David E. Williams and his wife Jeannie of Crossville, Tenn., and Mike J. Williams of California, Mo.; one daughter, Carol M. Williams and her husband Larry of Centertown, Mo.; one brother, Jack Wilder and his wife Janice of Kennewick, Wash.; 10 grandchildren, RaeAnn Warner, Joy McCleese, Krista Packer, Robert Williams, Patrick Williams, Larry Vonn Williams, Laura Williams, Paul Williams, Jacob Williams, and Kirsten Williams; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Roy Wilder in 2009. Visitation will be at Taylor Funeral Home in Farmington, Mo. from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2011. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Taylor Chapel with the Reverend Randy Sawyer officiating. Private interment will be held at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
