Mrs. Marie P. Schneader, age 92 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at Villa Marie Nursing Center. Marie was born September 24, 1918, in Bem, Mo., the daughter of Emil and Clara Kottwitz Pietraschke. She was married to August W. Schneader Jr., who preceded her in death in November 1969. A resident of the central Missouri area for most of her life, Marie attended Rock Island School in Bem, Mo. A homemaker, Marie had been employed with the Missouri Dept. of Revenue in the Motor Vehicle Registration Dept. She was a lifelong member of Central United Church of Christ and a member of the Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. She was a volunteer at Charles E. Still Hospital and later Capital Region Medical Center. Marie was an excellent cook who also enjoyed sewing. She was a caregiver to many of her family and friends. Survivors include: one son, Michael David Schneader of Jefferson City, Mo.; two nieces, Carolyn Beck of Jefferson City, Mo. and Sharon Wersching of Webster Groves, Mo.; one nephew, Randy Pietraschke of Owensville, Mo.; and several great-nieces and great- nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Harvey Pietraschke, James Pietraschke, Eddie Pietraschke, and Virgil Pietraschke; two sisters, Edna Niermeyer and Emily Kirkwood; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Stephen Buchholz officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Lung Assn. or the American Heart Assn. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
