Margaretanne Bestgen

Margaretanne Bestgen, 80, of Tipton, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City.
She was born December 30, 1930 in Chanute, Kan., to John and Sybella (Freisburg) Gant, both of whom preceded her in death. She was the adopted daughter of her loving parents, Charles and Mary Grevillot, both of whom also preceded her in death. She was married April 11, 1953, in Tipton, to Charles Bestgen, who survives of the home. She worked at Biltwell Pants Factory and was a homemaker and babysitter for many years. She enjoyed being at the farm with the hogs and cows, baking (especially her famous cinnamon rolls and crescent rolls), doing crafts, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Tipton, and was a graduate of Tipton High School, where she received a medal for never missing a day in 12 years of school. She is survived by one son, John and wife Mary of Clarksburg; two daughters, Mary and husband Jeff McIntyre of Tipton and Teresa and husband Marlan Albertson of Wardsville; 11 grandchildren, Paul, Emilee, Heather, Aaron, Nikki, Abby, George, Bridget, April, Ashley and Caleb; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Bob Gant and wife Shirley of Chanute, Kan. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Christina Kennedy; three sisters and two brothers; three great-grandchildren and one son-in-law. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Tipton. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery. Officiating will be Father Fred Elskamp. Visitation will also be held on Sunday, January 23, 2011, from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 1:30 p.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Tipton. Memorials are suggested to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research or to St. Andrew's Catholic Church, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
