David Michael Scott, 53, of Holts Summit, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born March 15, 1957, in Versailles, a son of Benjamin and Clara (Farris) Scott. He was a graduate of Eugene Cole R-V in Eugene. On August 9, 1975, David was united in marriage in Jefferson City, to Tina (Wenger) Scott, who survives at their home. David was a Union Pipefitter for Pipefitter's Union Local 562. He was a member of the Holts Summit Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, where he served as an Elder, and also served on the Patient Visitation Group. David truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He lived the words found at Proverbs 17:17 "A true companion is loving all the time, and is a brother that is born for when there is distress." Along with his wife Tina, David is also survived by a daughter, Tiffany Christine Galvan (husband Aaron R.) of Olathe, Kan.; a son, Steven Patrick Scott (wife Melissa D.) of Jefferson City; one granddaughter, Ava Raquel Galvan of Olathe, Kan.; his mother, Clara Scott-Jenkins of Hickory Hill; eight siblings, Gary Scott (wife Judy) of Hesperia, Calif., Jim Scott of Columbia, Carolyn Bunger of Jefferson City, Ben Scott of Hickory Hill, Patrick Scott (wife Judy) of Jefferson City, Nancy Bond (husband David) of Eugene, Andy Scott of Millersburg, John Scott (wife Tammy) of Eugene; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Scott; and one son, David Michael Scott II. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 185 Northstar Drive in Holts Summit, with Ryan Stone officiating. Entombment will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Holts Summit Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
