Margie Frances McKinney, 78, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011, at the Golden Living Center. She was born January 27, 1933, in Belfast, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Willie and Mary King. She was a graduate of Osceola High School in Osceola, Arkansas. On August 21, 1953, she was united in marriage to Chester J. McKinney, who preceded her in death on February 9, 2009. Frances worked for the Missouri State Library for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church, where she also volunteered with the Church Newsletter. Frances liked to work the New York Times Crossword Puzzles, and also enjoyed painting. She is survived by three sons: Tim McKinney, Greg McKinney and Andrew McKinney, all of Jefferson City; one daughter: Teresa McKinney of Kansas City; one sister: Pam King of Memphis, Tenn.; seven grandchildren: Adam, Chet, Casey, Josh, Alec, Andrew, Madeline; and three great-grandchildren: Rhegan, Emma and Joe. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Gladys Davis and Lucille Spradley. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Private family services will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Rev. Murl Nash officiating. Entombment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
