Elizabeth Katherine Reichel

Elizabeth Katherine Reichel, 72, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center. She was born January 3, 1939, in Loose Creek, Missouri, a daughter of Herman Joseph and Margaret (Schmitz) Haslag. She attended Immaculate Conception School in Loose Creek, Missouri. On October 17, 1959, Elizabeth was united in marriage in Loose Creek, to Jerome Dennis Reichel, who preceded her in death on March 13, 2008. Elizabeth worked as a Materials Handler for Westinghouse A.B.B. for 26 years until her retirement in 2000. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Elizabeth enjoyed traveling, playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and spending time with her cat, "Muffy". She is survived by two sons: Gerald Reichel (wife Mary) of Columbia; and Ken Reichel (wife Melody) of Jefferson City; two brothers: Cletus Haslag and Vince Haslag, both of Loose Creek; one sister: Theresa Schillers of St. Martin; four grandchildren: Jeremy and Catherine Reichel, both of Columbia; Allison and Cole Reichel, both of Jefferson City; one great-granddaughter: Andora Reichel of Columbia; and one great-grandson: Tristin Reichel of Columbia. She was also preceded in death by her parents: Herman and Margaret Haslag; and a granddaughter: Madison Rae Reichel, daughter of Ken and Melody Reichel. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with prayer services to be held at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011, at St. Peter Catholic Church, with Fr. Basil Eruo officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church.
