Mr. Leslie G. Green, age 70 years, of Wardsville, Mo., passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at his home. Les was born on July 14, 1940, in Belle, Mo., a son of Alva and Minnie Lehnoff Green. He was married on September 26, 1964, in Bland, Mo. to Linda K. Biehl, who preceded him in death on March 13, 2009. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Les was a 1958 graduate of Belle High School in Belle, Mo. After high school, he served in the United States Army from 1958 through 1961 and was stationed throughout the United States during those years. Les was employed as a bindery operator with Von Hoffman Press, Inc. for 35 years until his retirement in 2004. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Honey Creek, Mo. and the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5. Les' main passion was music, especially playing his steel guitar in several local bands. He also enjoyed being outdoors, camping and fishing, and was a Ham radio operator under the call sign WB0WIW. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and helping raise his daughter, Montana. Survivors include: one son, Kevin Green of Jefferson City, Mo.; one daughter, Montana Green of Jefferson City, Mo.; and two sisters, Ruth McKinney and her husband Floyd and Ruby Seymore, both of Belle, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda; his daughter, Jodie Green on October 22, 1995; and two brothers, Johnny Green and Uel Green. Visitation will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2011. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Honey Creek, Mo., with Reverend Jeffrey Schanbacher officiating. Graveside services and interment with military honors will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Honey Creek, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Montana Green Educational Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary. www.freemanmortuary.com
