Alma Jean Christian, 79, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on July 5, 1932, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late William Materson and Hattie Mae Yates Branson. She was united in marriage on April 18, 1952, in Jefferson City, to Mardell Leonard Christian, who resides at the home. Alma worked for International Shoe Factory, Scholastic, and with the Missouri Department of Health as a vital statistics clerk. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, California, Mo. Alma enjoyed crocheting, watching movies, and traveling with her husband. Her greatest love was her family. Spending time and caring for all her family was her greatest passion in life. Other survivors include three children: Deborah (Alan) Campbell, Ashland, Dwayne Christian, Jefferson City, Dwight (Angela) Christian, Holts Summit; three grandchildren: Shelly (Jesse) Kirchhoff, Mindy Campbell, and Brandon Christian; two great-grandchildren: Hannah Kirchhoff and Kailey Wallace; and two siblings: Donald (Louise) Branson, Holts Summit, and Patsy (Charles) Eckelkamp, Jefferson City. She was also preceded in death by four sisters: Helen Eggar, Cleda Crockett, Mildred Baker, and Mary Verdot; and four brothers: Jr. Branson, Orville Branson, Harry Branson, and Herbert Branson. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, December 30, 2011, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with Dr. Peter Kurowski officiating. Burial will be in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.
