During her work history she was employed in various capacities at: Tweedie's Footware, Brown Shoe, International Shoe, Von Hoffmann Press and Chesebrough Ponds/Unilever before her retirement in 1988. In her retirement she was a voracious reader and enjoyed flower gardening, piecing quilts, traveling, attending estate auctions and garage sales, antiquing and visiting flea markets.
