Dorothy Gertrude Verhoff, 85, of Jefferson City, formerly of Argyle, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011, in Heisinger Bluffs, Jefferson City. Dorothy was born June 12, 1925, at Wardsville, a daughter of Bernard (Ben) and Nettie (Heisinger) Weavers. Mrs. Verhoff was united in marriage on October 15, 1977, at Jefferson City, to Harold William Verhoff, who preceded her in death on April 1, 2009. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Elmer J. Weavers. She was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Argyle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8045. Mrs. Verhoff had been employed with the Missouri Department of Transportation in the Highway Planning Department, Jefferson City, for 42 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, gardening and flowers. Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Verhoff include: two brothers James Weavers, Osage City, and Ralph Weavers, Argyle; and other relatives and friends. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Mrs. Verhoff at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011, in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, with the Rev. Msgr. Marion J. Makarewicz officiating. Interment will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Argyle. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2011, and 9 -10 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011, in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service with the Rev. Msgr. Marion J. Makarewicz leading. Masses or Memorials to the Holy Family School, Freeburg, are preferred by the family with envelopes available at the Church or the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
