Ronald Grey Fisher, 65, of Grove, Okla., passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011, at his daughter Sandra's residence in Russellville. He was born on December 28, 1945, in North Platte, Neb., a son of the late Russell Hiram and Olive Sarah Lockhart Fisher. He was united in marriage on July 3, 1966, to Linda Ruth Shaner, who survives at the home. Ron was a 1964 graduate of Maxwell High School, 1967 graduate of Kearney State Teachers College, and a 1988 graduate of Rocky Mountain Baptist College. He owned and operated Grove Vacuum and was employed by Lowe's but his true passion was the 36 years of teaching in the public and Christian schools. Ron enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, fishing, playing pitch and was a member of the Independent Baptist Church in Grove, Okla. In addition to his wife Linda, Ron is survived by his four daughters: Danette Stinnett and her husband Seth of Grove, Okla., Sandra Abbott and her husband Tony of Russellville, Carleen Sanchez of Russellville, and Kimberly Mensink and her husband Brent of Miami, Okla.; and his three grandchildren: Matthew, Elizabeth and Abigail Mensink of Miami, Okla. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: William Fisher and James Fisher; and one sister: Leila Fisher. Friends will be received from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home with Brother Marty Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Independent Baptist Church in Grove, Okla.
