Lucetta Clara (Gilk) Lischwe, 85, of Argyle, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla. She was born June 30, 1925, at Albany, Minnesota, a daughter of Jacob Matthew and Clara (Weinmann) Gilk. Mrs. Lischwe was united in marriage on May 17, 1949, at Albany, Minnesota, to Joseph Jacob Lischwe, and to the union three children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on February 18, 1998; her father in August of 1972; her mother on July 16, 1960; two brothers, Oliver Gilk at the age of 18 from Polio and Herbert Gilk. Mrs. Lischwe was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna; the Ladies Auxiliary of the Argyle Knights of Columbus Council No. 2047; a former member of the St. Ann's Sodality at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Brinktown, and the Visitation Ladies Quilting Group, had volunteered at the Visitation Interparish School and was a volunteer worker at the Vienna Senior Citizens Center. She was the office manager of the L.B. Manufacturing Company, Iberia for 22 years, retiring in 1987, and was a devoted housewife and homemaker, always diligent in providing for the needs of her family. Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Lischwe include: one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Teresa Lischwe, Bloomington, Illinois; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Jim Nelson, Sappington; and Joan and Chris Brundick, Argyle; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Nelson, St. Louis; Eric Nelson, Woodland Hills, California; Sara Nelson, Sappington; Joseph Lischwe, New York City, New York; Krystle Lischwe, Boston, Massachusetts; Emily, Elizabeth, and Jacob Brundick, all of Argyle; one brother and sister-in-law, Roland and Tillie Gilk, Albany, Minnesota; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie and Eugene Chock, St. Joseph, Minnesota; and Alda Mae and Ray Mayers, New Munich, Minnesota; one sister-in-law, Gertie Gilk, Paynesville, Minnesota; and many other relatives and friends. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Lischwe at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, September 30, 2010, in the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, with Rev. Msgr. Marion J. Makarewicz celebrating. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 29, 2010, with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 - 9:30 a.m., Thursday, September 30, 2010, in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Memorials are suggested per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
