Emma Irene Batye, 93, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Ashland Healthcare. Mrs. Batye was born October 1, 1917, in Wilton, a daughter of Frank Leslie and Martha Pearl Glascock Rippeto. She was married October 14, 1937, to Harold A. Batye, who preceded her in death on December 9, 1989. Emma worked in the telephone office in Ashland, Pauley's Grocery Store, Olberman's Garment Factory in Jefferson City and Boone Hospital for seven years. She was a member of the order of Eastern Star for 56 years, and a member of Woodcrest Primitive Baptist church in Ashland. Survivors include a son, Dewayne Batye, wife Terry of Holt Summit; six grandchildren, WM (Bill) Batye, wife Janice of St. Charles, Mo., Sheila Sanford of New Bloomfield, Mo., Dennis Batye, wife Cathy of Fairfield, Calif., Dale Batye of Stockton, Calif., Darla Penados, husband Carlos of Suisun, Calif., and Donna Diaz of Keller, Texas; four step-grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; 12 great-great- grandchildren and four step- great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, Harold Dean Batye; three sisters and seven brothers. Services will be held at Woodcrest Primitive Baptist Church on Wednesday November 17, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in Woodcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 16, at Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland, from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
