Mary Maupin, age 90, of Shelbina, Mo., passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010, at the Salt River Community Care in Shelbina, Mo. Mary was born April 25, 1920, in Knox County near Baring, Mo., to Michael William and Anna Theresa Kinney. She was one of nine siblings. On December 30, 1946, she was married to Thomas C. Maupin, who died June 6, 2006. Mary graduated from Atlanta High School in Atlanta, Mo. and then attended Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville, Mo. She then taught school for several years before becoming a homemaker and mother. Mary was a devout Catholic and a member of the St. Maryís Catholic Church in Shelbina. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Deanery Council of Catholic Women and St. Maryís Altar Society. Mary enjoyed cooking for and being around her family. She was also very passionate about her many flowers and plants that she nurtured. Surviving are three children, Pat Maupin and daughter-in-law Nina of Jacksonville, Mo., Terry Maupin, Monroe City, and Mike Maupin, Jefferson City; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Hall and husband Bill, Jennifer Maupin, Anthony Maupin and wife Natalie, Terry Joe Maupin and wife Jody, Laura Maupin, Patrick Maupin and Melissa Maupin; four great-grandchildren, Kaelin, McKenna and Avery Hall and McKenzie Maupin and one sister, Pauline Weir, Pittsfield, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one daughter-in-law, Marsha Ann Maupin. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shelbina, Mo. A Rosary - Daughters of Isabella was at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, Mo. and a Vigil service was at 7:30 p.m. Visitation was 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at the funeral home. Celebrant was Fr. Dandi Bermejo. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Shelbina, Mo. Memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
