Annie Pearl Johnson, 67, of Jefferson City, formerly of St. Louis, Mo., passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at her home.
Mrs. Johnson was born December 31, 1942, in St. Louis, Mo., a daughter of Julius Thompson Sr. and Izeanie Thompson of St. Louis, Mo. She was a student of St. Louis public schools. Ann was a loyal employee at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois for many years. She enjoyed being with friends and family. Ann lived by the motto "If you cook it, they will come."
Ann is survived by three sons: Orlando Eugene Harvey Sr., Bennie Johnson Jr. (Monica) and Terence DeWayne Johnson, all of Illinois; six daughters: Rochelle Marie Payden (Anthony) of Columbia, Mo., LaWanda Bernette White of Jefferson City, Mo., Marcia Carmen White of Columbia, Mo., Pamela Ann Hallmon (Charles), Cynthia Fay White, Tammy Anita Johnson, all of Jefferson City, Mo.; three brothers: Cornelius Thompson of St. Louis, Mo., Etheria Thompson (Doreen) of St. Louis, Mo., Marquise Thompson of Illinois; three sisters: Corrine Davis of Detroit, Mich., Elaine Garnett and Melody Allen both of St. Louis, Mo.; 24 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; four close friends: "Doll" Verdis Morris, Carol Jackson, "DeDe" Lydia Lagrone Payne, "Kat" Kathleen Goree; and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and friends. She was preceded in death by her son: Anthony Lewis White; a brother: Julius Thompson Jr.; and a close friend: Ernestine.
Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the First Assembly of God in Jefferson City, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Lisa Deutsch officiating. Interment will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Annie Pearl Johnson Memorial Fund, c/o Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.
