James Ellsworth Roller, 60, of Holts Summit, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010, at University Hospital in Columbia.
He was born October 20, 1949 in Callaway County, the son of Donald Melvin Roller and Isabelle "Tootie" Bess D'Harlingue. James attended Cotton Rock Elementary School and Fulton High School. He served our country in the United States Army. He was an over-the-road truck driver for more than 30 years, where he was awarded several awards for safety. He was a member of the Hams Prairie Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, playing board and computer games, cards, CB radio, country music, reading western novels, WWE wrestling, NASCAR racing and he loved visiting with friends and family. In addition to his father of Lumberton, Miss., he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two brothers, Noel D'Harlingue and Michael (Vicki) D'Harlingue; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins including Helen Elley, John and Lois Bess, Belinda Bess (Gary) Heimericks and Lee Bess (Chris) Anderson. His mother preceded him in death. Memorial services will be 6:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Hams Prairie Christian Church with Rev. Don Daniels officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service today at the church. Immediately following the service, inurnment will be held at Hams Prairie Cemetery.
