Mr. Ralph E. Barnhart, age 96 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the Golden Living Center.
Ralph was born February 11, 1914, in Granite City, Illinois the son of William Marion and Ann Abbott Barnhart. He was married on September 5, 1940, in Granite City, Illinois to Magdalen A. Schallert. A life long resident of the central Missouri area, Ralph attended school in Meta, Mo. He was employed as a driver with Emerson Electric in St. Louis for 37 years prior to his retirement in 1978. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church; a member of the Teamsters Local 1102, and the Senior Citizens in Wardsville. Survivors include: his wife of 69 years, Magdalen Barnhart; one daughter, Mary Barnhart of Jefferson City, Mo.; a half-brother, William Barnhart and his wife Barbara of Wentzville, Mo.; two grandchildren, Holly Davidson and David Davidson; two great-grandchildren, Erek Nystrom and Kelli Nystrom; and one sister-in-law, Nigel Barnhart of Overland Park, Kan. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Fred Barnhart and Clay Barnhart. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010, at St. Stanislaus Church with the Revererd Gregory Meystrik officiating. Private graveside services and interment will be conducted at the Meta Cemetery, Meta, Mo. Visitation will be at St. Stanislaus Church from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
