Harold Branson (Veteran)
Harold Gene Branson, 74, Jefferson City, died Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Parkside Manor, Columbia.
He was born July 17, 1935, in Jefferson City, a son of Leslie and Eula Mae (Buster) Branson. He was a 1953 graduate of Jefferson City High School. Harold served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. He worked for Fechtel Beverage for many years and retired from the Missouri Department of Corrections after 20 years of service. Harold was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693 for over 40 years and was very active at the state level, holding every office in the organization. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Spinning Heels Square Dance Team. Survivors include: three children, Deanna Stone (Marvin), Harrisburg, Kent Branson (Cheryl Johnson), Columbia, James Branson (Patricia), Columbia; three grandchildren, Tiffany, Stephany and Brittany Stone; and one great-granddaughter, Alexis. Friends will be received from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Randy Germann officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
