Clarence "Chick" Keilholz, 73, of Chamois, Missouri, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born December 7, 1936, in Chamois, Missouri, a son of the late George and Edith (Benedict) Keilholz. He was a graduate of Assumption Catholic School in Morrison, Missouri, and LaSallette Seminary in Jefferson City, Missouri. On August 19, 1961, he was united in marriage in Chamois, Missouri, to Shirley Lamb, who survives at their home. Clarence worked for Central Electric Power Cooperative for 29 years. He was a longtime Cemetery Sexton for Most Pure Heart of Mary Cemetery, a lifetime carpenter for Elmer Keilholz Construction and Joe Keilholz Construction, and a lifetime cattle and pig farmer. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Clarence was a member of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where he served as communion minister. He was Past Member and President of Lions, a member of the Gasconade Valley Enterprise Zone, and worked hard on trying to get a Ferry on the Missouri River in Chamois. He is also survived by three sisters: Loretta Inserra of St. Louis, Mo.; Rosemary Rost of Morrison, Mo.; Mel Rost (husband Hank) of Morrison, Mo.; three brothers: Elmer Keilholz (wife Jane); Raymond Keilholz (wife Carol); Leonard Keilholz (wife Mary) all of Chamois, Mo.; a sister-in-law: Margaret Keilholz of Liverpool, England; numerous nieces and nephews, including Jim Keilholz (wife Darcy) who helped Clarence with the family farm. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother: George Keilholz Jr. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Meyer-Hilke-Millard Funeral Home - Chamois, with a prayer service to be held at 3:30 p.m., additional visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010, at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Chamois, with Fr. David Means officiating. Interment will follow in the Most Pure Heart of Mary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Most Pure Heart of Mary Cemetery Fund.
