Ms. Anita M. Scott, age 83 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at her home.
She was born December 17, 1926, in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of Emanuel and Ella Hader Scott. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Anita attended Jefferson City Public Schools. She was employed as the manager with Lee Optical for several years until her retirement. Anita was a member of the First Church of God. She was an angel collector and enjoyed sharing them with family and friends. Survivors include: one sister, Martha M. Merrill of Jefferson City, Mo.; two brothers, Ralph Scott and his wife Lucille of Jefferson City, Mo. and Herbert Scott and his wife Wanda of Columbia, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Revice Scott, Virgil Scott and Marvin Scott; and two sisters, Ruby Wright and Helen Powell. Visitation will be at the First Church of God, 1614 Southwest Blvd., from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at the First Church of God with the Reverend Rob Kespelher officiating. Private graveside services and interment will be conducted at Riverview Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Missouri River Hospice.
