Roberta E. Glascock, 77, formerly of Jefferson City and Philadelphia, Mo., died Monday, June 7, 2010, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
Roberta was born November 8, 1932, in Beresford, South Dakota to Carl and Amy Stewart Schleiermacher. She married Tommy Glascock June 3, 1951, at Bethany Baptist Church near Philadelphia, Mo. Roberta worked as a stenographer at Younkers in Des Moines, Iowa and at Motorola in Quincy, Ill. She later worked at the Post Office in Shelbyville, Mo. and Sequin, Texas. Roberta was a 1950 graduate of Shelbyville, Mo. High School. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Lighthouse #194 of Philadelphia, Mo. She enjoyed playing piano, cake decorating, arts and crafts, singing in church choir, and fishing. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Tommy; children, Kenneth Glascock of San Antonio, Texas, Carolyn Glascock of Chicago, Ill., and Dr. Dennis Glascock of O' Fallon, Mo.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Daryl Lee Glascock on October 6, 2005; a brother, Vincent Leo Schleiermacher and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Rev. Roger Stevens will officiate. Interment will be in the Philadelphia Cemetery in Philadelphia, Missouri. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.
