Patricia Ann "Pat" Beal, 70, of Jefferson City, died Friday, July 2, 2010, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
She was born October 8, 1939, in Medicine Lodge, Kan., the daughter of the late Carl Edward Sowell and Virginia B. Bledsoe Sowell. She was a 1957 graduate of Wichita High School East. She was united in marriage on June 7, 1957, at McConnell Air Force Base, Wichita, Kan., to Thomas Lee Beal who resides at the home. The couple moved to Jefferson City in November of 1977, when her husband was transferred as Customer Service Manager to the newly built Jefferson City Sears store. Mrs. Beal was employed with First National Bank of Hutchinson, Kan.; drove a school bus for Sitton Transportation Company of Jefferson City for three years; and was Customer Service Manager with Exchange National Bank for several years. She owned and operated Wood-n-Wonders Crafts and was later associated with Calico Cottage in Jefferson City. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, enjoyed gardening and building crafts, and was passionate about her grandchildren.
Survivors include: two sons, David (Kim) Beal, Jefferson City, and Daniel (Dublon) Beal, Waukegan, Ill.; and four grandchildren, Casey Beal and Tanner Beal, both of Jefferson City, and Ariel Ann Beal and Eleanor Rose iElliei Beal, both of Waukegan, Ill.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Dumas and the Rev. Chris Dumas officiating. Visitation will be held at the church following the funeral. Private entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church, 201 E. Monroe Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Those wishing to email condolences to the family may do so at the website.
