Ms. Dina M. Rant, age 43 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Sunday, February 21, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Center.
Dina was surrounded by her family as she slipped the bonds of earth and was joyously welcomed into the arms of her heavenly Father and loved ones who wait in heaven. She was born September 3, 1966, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.,the daughter of William H. and Terry A. Ange Rant. She was born again on Easter Eve in Jacksonville, Ala. at the age of six. Dina graduated from the University of Missouri at St. Louis with a degree in Psychology and from Washington University in St. Louis with a masters degree in Social Work. She was employed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in St. Louis and Jefferson City. She touched many that were hurting and offered herself unselfishly in her efforts to better their lives. Survivors include: her mother, Terry Nichols, her father, Dr. William Rant, and her step-father, Jim Nichols, all of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Major Eric Rant and his wife Laura, nieces Kaitlyn and Megan, and nephew Dylan of Bettendorf, Iowa; one step-brother, John Nichols and his wife Jodi and niece Laci of Jefferson City, Mo.; loving aunts, Marilyn Armstrong of North Carolina and daughter, Robin; Rene Maye and her husband Gary and daughters, Nicole and Stacia of Dothan, Ala. She also will be forever missed by her beloved pets that were so much a part of her life and so greatly benefited from her love and devotion. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank Rant, Wilma Rant, Luther Ange, Joseph Stanfield and Arel Stanfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. today, Tuesday, February 23, 2010, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Lewis Curtis officiating. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. today. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Samaritan Center or the Jefferson City Animal Shelter. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
