Florence A. Samson, 88, of Linn, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010, at the Oak Tree Villa in Jefferson City.
Florence was born March 14, 1921, in Frankenstein, a daughter to the late William "Bill" and Mary Frances (Bogler) Jaegers. Florence attended school in Frankenstein. On October 10, 1940, Florence was united in marriage to Joseph H. Samson in St Louis. He survives of the home. Florence worked at various jobs throughout her life including the Missouri Department of Revenue as well as being a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading, playing cards, antiquing, and traveling. Florence was a member of St. George Church in Linn as well as the St. George Quilting Circle and the Legion of Mary. In addition to her husband, Florence is survived by three sons: Larry J. and his wife Sharon Samson of Pawnee, Illinois, Roger W. and his wife Linda Samson of Jefferson City, Donald P. and his wife Evelyn Samson of Jefferson City; one daughter: Diane R. Dudenhoeffer of Taos; one brother: Bud and his wife Martha Jaegers of Linn; and two sisters: Legora Ray of Sedalia and Viola Schaefer of Union; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Florence was preceded in death by three brothers: Norman, Vic and Albert Jaegers; two sisters: Wilma Maasen and Josephine Samson; one son-in-law: James Dudenhoeffer and an infant great grandson: Connor Samson. Visitation will be 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, at the Morton Chapel in Linn. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 18, at the St. George Church in Linn with Fr. I.C. Medina as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at the St. George Church Cemetery.
