Agnes Elizabeth Hagenhoff

Agnes Elizabeth Hagenhoff, age 87, of Westphalia, formerly of Freeburg, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Westphalia Hills in Westphalia.
She was born on April 20, 1923, in Argyle, a daughter of Herman and Sophia (Schwartze) Hilke. Mrs. Hagenhoff was united in marriage on April 20, 1949, in Argyle, to Joseph Aloysius Hagenhoff, and to this union seven children were born. Mrs. Hagenhoff was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church of Freeburg and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Paul A. Hasenbeck American Legion Post No. 317 of Freeburg. She had worked in the door room at Quaker Window Products in Freeburg as well as being a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker. Mrs. Hagenhoff enjoyed cooking, playing bingo and going to the gambling boats. Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Hagenhoff include: four sons and three daughters-in-law, Norbert and Rhonda Hagenhoff of Lake Mary, Fla., John and Vicki Hagenhoff of Taos, Jerome Hagenhoff of Argyle, and Tim and Georgie Hagenhoff of Wardsville; three daughters, and two sons-in-law, Sophia and Ronald Kroll of Wardsville, Betty and Dan Berhorst of Freeburg, and Helen Bauer of Linn; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 25, 1989; her parents; one grandchild, Georgia Hagenhoff; one great-grandchild, Molly Woodward; and three brothers, Theodore Hilke, William Hilke, and Norbert Hilke. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Hagenhoff at 10 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2010, in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg, with Rev. Phil Niekamp officiating, assisted by Rev. I.C. Medina of St. George Catholic Church of Linn. Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery in Freeburg. Visitation for Mrs. Hagenhoff will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2010, with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m., and visitation from 9-10 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2010, in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Holy Family School in Freeburg, with envelopes available at the church and the Vienna office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. All arrangements are under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
