Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Rozier, age 103 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, December 6, 2010, at Heisinger Bluffs. Elizabeth was born October 23, 1907, in Carthage, Mo., the daughter of Allen and Maude Clark McReynolds. She was married on September 21, 1941, to George Rozier, who preceded her in death in 1984. Elizabeth was educated in the Carthage Public Schools. She attended Monticello College in Godfrey, Ill., the University of Wisconsin at Madison, Wis., and graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1929. She was a member of Missouri Alpha of Pi Beta Phi, a member of the Jefferson City Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club, and a member of Missouri Alpha of Phi Beta Kappa. Elizabeth was a member of The Tuesday Club, Jefferson City's oldest club; a member of the Missouri State Historical Society; a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation; a member of the University of Missouri at Columbia Arthritis Center Advisory Council; a member of the Arthritis Foundation; a member of the Cole County Historical Society; a member of the Historic City of Jefferson; and a member of Grace Episcopal Church. Survivors include: two sons, James Rozier and his wife Susan of Jefferson City, Mo. and John Rozier and his wife Gerry of Jefferson City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Alexander Rozier, Christopher Rozier, Adam Rozier, and Elizabeth Rozier; and two great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Allen McReynolds. A private family funeral service was conducted with entombment in the Rozier Mausoleum at Riverview Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the charity of their choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
