Mrs. Margie "Lee" Mallicoat, age 86 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Friday, August 6, 2010, at the Jefferson City Manor Care Center.
Lee was born February 4, 1924, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Charles B. and Alpha Hendricks Holden. She was married on August 27, 1942, in Jefferson City, Mo., to Marion L. Mallicoat, who preceded her in death on February 4, 1993. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Lee graduated from the School of the Ozarks. A homemaker, she was employed as a cook with the Jefferson City Public Schools for many years until her retirement in April, 1984. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Shirley E. Myers of Jefferson City, Mo. and Norma L. Rose and her husband Kent of Jefferson City, Mo; two sons, Michael D. Mallicoat and his wife Kathy of Creve Coeur, Mo., and Mark A. Mallicoat of Warrenton, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Mallicoat of Jefferson City, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Charles L. Mallicoat; and one sister, Michelle Holden.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 9, 2010, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend James Wells officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Immanuel Baptist Church or the Alzheimer's Association of Mid-Missouri.
