Janice Ann Belt, age 59, of Henley, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
She was born December 24, 1950, in Tuscumbia, the daughter of Jake and Laverne (Morff) Berendzen. She was married on January 31, 1970, to Larry Eugene Belt, at Our Lady of the Snows in Mary's Home. She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary's Home. She retired after 40 years of service working for Employment Security to spend time with her grandchildren and to travel.
Survivors include: her husband, Larry Belt of the home; one daughter, Lesli Belt of Henley; one son and daughter-in law, Sid and Jessica Belt of Henley; three grandchildren, Logan, Ryder, and Brayden Belt, all of Henley; her mother, Laverne Berendzen of Henley; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Belt of Eugene; her siblings and their spouses, Cathy and Freddy Klindt of Eugene, Nancy and Paul Whitney of Ponca City, Okla., Darrell and Kathy Berendzen of Jefferson City, Brenda and John Rush of Mary's Home, Mitch and Betty Berendzen of Mary's Home, Sheri and Todd Koestner of Russellville; sisters-in-law, Debbie Berendzen of Jefferson City, and Wilma Engelbrecht and her husband Lloyd of Eugene; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Belt and his wife Sally of Henley, and Richard Belt and his wife Sue of Jefferson City; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Jake Berendzen; and three brothers, David, Kenneth and Harry Berendzen.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 26, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, Mary's Home, with Rev. Patrick J. Shortt officiating. Following the Mass, the family will receive friends and family at the Knights of Columbus Hall for an informal Celebration of Life and a lunch will be served. Her body has been cremated and a private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Grandchildrens Education Fund.
