Mrs. Virginia O. Schuett, age 90 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at the Villa Marie Nursing Center.
Virginia was born November 21, 1919, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of John and Hazel Slade Schott. She was married in September, 1940, in Kansas City, Mo. to Edward J. Schuett who preceded her in death on March 19, 1977. Virginia graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, Mo. She also graduated summa cum laude from Park College in Parkville with a degree in social work. She was employed as a secretary for the Board of Tri-County Mental Health in Liberty until her retirement. Virginia volunteered with the American Red Cross during World War II and also at St. Luke's Hospital in Gladstone, Mo. after her retirement. Virginia served as a troop leader for the Girl Scouts in Platte Woods, Mo. She was a member of the Platte Woods United Methodist Church in Platte Woods, Mo. Survivors include: one daughter, Susan Beahan of Jefferson City, Mo.; two grandsons, Sean Beahan and his wife Patty of Columbia, Mo., and Brian Beahan and his wife Sarah of Columbia, Mo.; and one great-granddaughter, Maura Beahan. A private family memorial service will be conducted at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to The American Red Cross or the American Heart Assn.
