Juanita "Sue" Duncan, 87, of Chamois, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Oak Tree Villas in Jefferson City.
She was born September 7, 1922, in Chamois, a daughter of Ralph D. and Haydee Elizabeth (Rickhoff) Stonner. She was a 1940 graduate of Chamois High School. On July 12, 1948, Sue was united in marriage to Russell E. Duncan, who preceded her in death. Sue worked for many years as a nurse and receptionist for Dr. William V. McKnelly in his Chamois office. In 1977, she became licensed by the State of Missouri as an EMT, and served as a volunteer EMT for the Osage County Ambulance District. She was a member of the Chamois United Methodist Church, member and past president of the United Methodist Women, American Legion Post 506 Auxiliary, Victoria Chapter No. 14 Order of Eastern Star, and served for many years as a director of United Bank of Chamois (now Heritage Community Bank). Sue's interests included her family, especially her grandchildren and great- grandchildren, her community and church, and her neighbors and close friends which are too numerous to mention. Survivors include one son, Steve Duncan and wife Ina; daughter-in-law, Linda Duncan; grandchildren: Stacie Duncan Doss and husband Ben, Travis Duncan, Kirk Duncan, Tina Sieg and husband Brad, Marcie Duncan and fiancÈ Steve Cramer; great-grandchildren: Austin Sieg, Nathan Wight, Brady Jon Duncan; sister-in-law, Rita Stonner Alberty; nephews: Bill Stonner, Paul Stonner and Pam, Brian Stonner and wife Kathy; cousin, Anne Stonner Patlan and husband Lole; and numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Duncan; sons, David R. Duncan and Kent S. Duncan; grandson, Jon R. Duncan; great-grandson, Anthony Sieg; and brother, Ralph "Jack" Stonner. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Meyer-Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Chamois. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010, at the Chamois United Methodist Church with Rev. Donald Ruthenberg officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.
