Ruth Miller Keown, 88, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019. Ruth was born on December 14, 1930 in Guthrie, Missouri to the late Chester and Alpha Brown Yancey. She was one of ten children and is survived by three sisters. She was married for 35 years to Clark Miller and then for 27 years to Marvin Keown and they have both preceded her in death. She is survived by her special companion, James Wall. At age 20, Ruth became the youngest Deputy County Clerk in Callaway County and then six years later she was appointed by Governor Warren Hearnes to be the Callaway County Clerk and she served for 16 years in Public Service. Ruth then worked for 22 years as the Office Manager for the medical practice of Doctors Hill, Groce and Cooper. She knew every patient by name and was proud of her work. After she moved to Jefferson City, she was the Office Manager for the dental practice of Dr. Paul Dulle where she worked for 26 years and was proud of the fact that she was never late one day. She was a trusted and loyal employee in all her work experiences. Ruth is survived by three children, Carol (Larry) Frevert of Kansas City, Missouri, Ronda (Roger) Groner of Troy, Missouri and David (Andrea) Miller of Troy, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Michael (Shelly) Frevert, Kevin (Kate) Frevert, Keith (Ashley) Frevert, Kelli (Jason) Smith, Jana (Scott) Skopec, John (Katie) Groner, Allison (Max) Jackson and Clark Miller; and 13 great-grandchildren, Eleza Frevert, Norah Frevert, Zack Frevert, Kaylee Frevert, Avery Frevert, Peyton Smith, Nolan Smith, Brooke Skopec, Landon Herman, Nickolas Herman, Reese Skopec, Rory Groner and Remington Wilson. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri. Burial will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton. The family will receive guests at Debo Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and also on Thursday, September 12 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
