James Milton Jacobsen

James Milton Jacobsen, 80, of Jefferson City, formerly of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2019, at Oak Tree Villas. He was born on August 18, 1939, at the home in Sioux County, Iowa, a son of the late Emil and Ruby (Hotvet) Jacobsen. Jim was united in marriage on November 11, 1963, to Beverly Ann Schiedel in South Dakota. Jim was a graduate of Rock Valley High School in Rock Valley, Iowa. He received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering from South Dakota State University. He was proud to be a "Jackrabbit". Jim served in the National Guard in South Dakota for three years. After working for South Dakota Department of Transportation as an engineer, he then worked in sales for 3M. Jim was an avid golfer, enjoying the sport with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a member for many years of the Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield. When Jim and Bev retired to Bella Vista, Arkansas, he continued to enjoy golf at several courses in the area. He was an active member of the St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Parish of Bella Vista. Along with his wife of 55 years, Beverly, he is survived by his children: Joel Jacobsen (Michelle) of Olathe, Kansas, Brenda Hise (Ken) of Jefferson City, Missouri, Kay Jacobsen Henderson of Defiance, Missouri, and Keith Jacobsen (Deborah) of Fulton, Missouri; his grandchildren: Chelsea Comiskey (Sam), Jesse Jacobsen (Kayli), Jonah Jacobsen, Maggie Jacobsen, Tatum Nelson (Aaron), Jack Henderson, Jacoba Jacobsen, Mark Jacobsen (Allie), Jerimiah Jacobsen, and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Lillian Comiskey. Jim is also survived by his brother, Stan (Jackie) of Evergreen, Colorado, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings: Russell, David and Roy Jacobsen, and Marilyn Pedersen. Funeral Services will be held in Bella Vista, Arkansas, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society and the American Alzheimer's Association.
