Rickie D. Stapp

Mr. Rickie D. Stapp, 64, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, October 4, 2019, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital. Rickie was born April 30, 1955, in Seymour, Mo., a son of Lawrence "Johnny" and Ida Carmen (Snelson) Stapp. He was a 1973 graduate of Mansfield High School in Mansfield, Mo. Rickie was employed with the Missouri Dept. of Corrections at the Jefferson City Correctional Facility for over 20 years until 1995. He then was employed with Ryan's and Steak'n Shake Restaurants until ill health forced his retirement. In his free time, Rickie enjoyed fishing, listening to music and watching games shows. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs Fan, and he loved being with family. Survivors include: his significant other of over 22 years, Pearl "Beth" Hatfield; son, Michael Allen of Fulton, Mo.; two step-children, Annette Finigan (Bud) of Jefferson City, Mo. and Joe Hatfield of Shawnee, Kansas; three siblings, Melvin Stapp (Jean) of Neosho, Mo., Beverly Trent (Roger) of Shell Nob, Mo., and Mike Stapp (Eileen) of Washington, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Shannon Allen. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019, at the Corinth Baptist Church in Macomb, Mo. with the Reverend Melvin Stapp officiating.
