Howard L. "Poppy" Carender, 77, of Rocky Mount, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri from injuries he sustained in an accident. He was born September 9, 1941 in Henley, Missouri, the son of the late Mart and Maude (Hoskins) Carrender. On August 18, 1971 he was united in marriage to Connie (Porter) Carender, who survives of the home. Howard's passions were his family and traveling. Other survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Jody and Andrew Schuler of Eldon, Mo.; son, Dale Carender of Licking, Mo.; grandchildren, Kenzie Schuler (Dylan Rogers), Keva Schuler, Tiri Schuler;, Bear Schuler, Liam Schuler and Marty Carender; brother, Glenn Carrender (Beverly) of Independence, Mo.; sister, Linda Reed (Logan) of Independence, Mo.; and a good friend, Ronald Brown of Russellville, Mo. A son, Marty Carender; five brothers, Kenneth, David, Leslie, Warren and Junior Carrender; and three sisters, Zella Scarbro, Joan DeGraffenreid and Irene Busch preceded him in death. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo. Memorials in his name are suggested In Care of the Family. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo.
