Mary Carol Schmid

Mary Carol Schmid, 60, of Jefferson City, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at St. Joseph Bluffs, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 5, 1959, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Clarence and Juliann (Benne) Rockers. She married Dennis Schmid on June 16, 1990, in St. Martins. Mary Carol taught in many schools in the Jefferson City area for many years and also tutored children. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, making crafts and spending time with her beautiful family. Mary Carol was serious about recycling and the environment. She is survived by her husband, Dennis; daughters, Anna and Clarice Schmid, Jefferson City; siblings: RoseAnn Dussold (John) of Jefferson City, Bridget Engelbrecht (Steve) of Jefferson City, Gerard Rockers (Susie) of Centertown, and Teresa Dusenberg (Mike) of Centertown; nieces and nephews: Alicia Engelbrecht; Zachary, Abby and Ellie Rockers; Christian and Daniel Dusenberg; Nicholas, Natalie, and Benjamin Benke. Mary Carol was preceded in death by her father: Clarence Rockers; sister: Clarice Benke; and nephew: Alexander Benke. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, with prayer service at 3:15 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2019 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr.
