Leslie "Les" Vaughan, 74, of New Bloomfield, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019, at his home. He was born May 6, 1945, in Callaway County, Missouri, a son of the late Robert and Dollie (Baynham) Vaughan. He attended Lincoln Lab in Jefferson City and New Bloomfield High School in New Bloomfield. In 1975, Les was united in marriage to Alice Galbreath, who preceded him in death on May 4, 2008. Les worked for Milwaukee Railroad for over 30 years until his retirement. Les enjoyed playing cards, listening to Blues music, and most of all he loved to be with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Les is survived by three children: Regina Galbreath (Tyrone) of Kansas City, Mo.; Russell Galbreath of Milwaukee, Wis.; and Shirley Elerson-Galbreath (Johnny) of Milwaukee, Wis.; two brothers: Wesley Vaughan (Florence) of Jefferson City, Mo.; Clarence Vaughan of Jefferson City, Mo.; one sister: Stella Specks of Fort Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren: Nicole, Shawn, Eustachia, Lawrence, Michael, Tyrone and Deja; several great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special friend: Tommy Dulle. He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Myrtle Cave and her husband Eddie, Geraldine Holt and her husband Ancel; a sister-in-law: Josephine Vaughan; and a brother-in-law: Charles Specks. Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Oak Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Guthrie. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Oak Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Guthrie, with Rev. Marion Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Family of Leslie "Les" Vaughan.
