Darrell G. Schnack, 61, of California, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at the SSM Health St. Marys Hospital in Jefferson City, Mo. Darrell was born on September 12, 1957, in Pecos, Texas, the son of Gilbert Schnack, who preceded him in death, and Charlene (Lehman) Schnack, who survives in Jefferson City, Mo. Darrell was a graduate of California High School in 1976. After graduation he attended the Jerry College of Cosmetology in Columbia, Mo. Darrell was united in marriage on April 17, 1982, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in California, Mo. to Susan (Cook) Schnack, who survives of the home. Darrell was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in California, Mo. Darrell worked for June Allee at Kut-N-Kurl before opening his own business Darrell & Co. in California, Mo. for over 34 years. Darrell enjoyed NASCAR, his personal vehicles, Cardinals games, traveling to the beach, horseback riding with Miranda, bike riding, taking trips to Branson, and most of all spending time with his family. Darrell loved whole-heartedly and was well-known for putting others before himself. His kindness and compassion to others was simply the best. Days spent with Anna and Brantlee were by far his favorite. Dad and Papa Darrell were by far the favorite titles he held. Survivors include two daughters: Rachel Hees and her husband Lance of Jamestown, Mo., and Miranda Schnack of Columbia, Mo.; two brothers, Gary Schnack of Meta, Mo., and Wendell Schnack of California, Mo.; and two grandchildren, Anna Grace and Brantlee Hees. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor Evandro Kopper. Burial will be at St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Grandchildren Anna & Brantlee Hees Education Fund,c/o the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo.
