Marvin Eugene "Gene" Hotsenpiller, 85, of Jefferson City, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 28, 1933, in Smithton, Missouri, a son of Lloyd and Helen (Taylor) Hotsenpiller. He was united in marriage to Henrietta "Hank" Hoffmeister on July 26, 1953. Gene was a 1951 graduate of Tipton High School and found the love his life, Henrietta, at college, Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. He was drafted in the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict until he was discharged in 1953. Upon returning from the service he began employment with Standard Oil until his retirement in 1991. Gene was crazy about his beloved wife, Hank. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Gene was a kind and generous man. He put Jesus and others first. He read the Bible every day and tried to live his life the way the Lord wanted him to. He loved his family and friends and always put his wife, Henrietta "Hank", first and loved her with all his heart. Gene had a gift of remembering everyone he met and something about them. He had a way of making people feel at ease and important to him. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his two sons: Michael Hotsenpiller and wife Lisa of Lowell, Arkansas, and Steve Hotsenpiller and wife Anita of Holts Summit, Missouri; sibling, Don Hotsenpiller and wife Jane of Virginia; grandchildren: Megan Jacobson and husband Brian, Jared Hotsenpiller and wife Sarah, Matthew Hotsenpiller; and great-grandchildren: Emma, Abel, Keagan, Kelbi Jacobson. Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta "Hank" Hotsenpiller, and sister, Judy Huhman. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Entombment will be at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to Capital City Christian Church.
