Charley "C.W." Coots III

Charley "C.W." Coots III, 70, of Hartsburg, Missouri, passed away on March 14, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 3, 1948, in Cedar City, a son of Charley and Dorothy (Case) Coots II. He was united in marriage to Gayla (Russell) Coots. C.W. graduated from Cedar City High School in 1966. He was a contract painter and began working with his uncles when he was young. C.W. was a long-time member of the Painter's Local 1185 in Holts Summit. He worked at the Callaway nuclear plant on several occasions, and later went to work at Lincoln University. His passion was going fast. It began with race cars, then moved to race trucks and finally graduated to motorcycles. He adored his grandbabies and loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years: Gayla; son: Stacy Coots; daughter: Jesee Lynn Sartor (Bryan); grandchildren: Chris and Curt Coots, Cara Jane Thomas (Josh), Bobby Poe, Brandi and Brittney Nichols, and Cohen Sartor; great-grandchildren: Cadence and Sadie Thomas. Charley was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Joe Dale Coots. Friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2019, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Funeral Service will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2019, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors with Rev. Bob Nilges officiating. Inurnment will be private for the family.
