Dianna Leah Bredeman, 65, of Jefferson City, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 16, 1953, in Bonne Terre, a daughter of Leonard and Myra (Mayberry) Gaines. She married Kevin Bredeman on July 14, 1979, in Fulton. Adventure was her life: after her husband joined the Navy, their family lived in Cuba, California, and Spain. Even after settling in Jefferson City, she never lost her vagabond spirit and often traveled to the remote corners of the earth, with whomever she could find to go with her. Devoted to books, music and animals, Dianna attracted admirers and friends wherever she went. She is survived by her husband, Kevin; daughter, Heather Mediate (Marc), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; son, Nathan Bredeman, Brooklyn, New York; brother, Kent Gaines, Hollywood, Florida; and grandchildren, Camryn and Owen Mediate. Dianna was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Deborah Randall. Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Memorial Service will immediately follow from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m with Fr. Ignazio C. Medina officiating. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Mid Missouri Samaritan Center, 1310 E. McCarty St., Jefferson City, MO 65101. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main Street, Jefferson City, MO 65109, (573) 636-3838.
