Wayne N. Bax

Wayne N. Bax, age 62, of St. Elizabeth, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019, at his home. He was born in Jefferson City on September 9, 1956, son of the late Emil John and Bernadine Emma (Boessen) Bax. Wayne enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and bowling in the St. Elizabeth Bowling League. He was a life-long cattle farmer in the St. Elizabeth area and was a member of the American Polled Hereford Association. He is survived by five brothers, Gerald Bax (Donna) of Fulton, Paul Bax (Martha) of St. Elizabeth, Randy Bax (Elizabeth "Liz") of Jefferson City, Melvin Bax (Doris) of St. Elizabeth, and Michael "Mike" Bax of St. Elizabeth; two sisters, Patricia Redel (Ed) of Brinktown, and Karen Otto (John) of St. Elizabeth; 11 nieces and nephews, 19 great-nieces and nephews and several family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-niece, Callie; and one nephew-in-law, Nick Libbert. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Fr. Joby Thomas officiating. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in St. Elizabeth. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 4 p.m., on Tuesday, March 12, at the St. Elizabeth Community Center. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Elizabeth Archery Club. Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in St. Elizabeth.
