Donna Yvette Cayer

Donna Yvette McCondichie Cayer, 61, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019. She was born on September 9, 1957, in Omaha, Nebraska, a daughter of Herbert and Carolyn (Dotson) McCondichie. Donna graduated from McLain High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Lincoln University and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Donna was employed for many years with the Missouri Department of Corrections where she served in many capacities including Superintendent of the Southeast Correctional Center in Charleston and Deputy Warden of the Jefferson City Correctional Center in Jefferson City. She was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Gamma Epsilon Omega Graduate Chapter and the Missouri Corrections Association. Donna was a member of Second Baptist Church where she served on the Trustee Board and was President of the Women's Mission Union. She is survived by her furry canine companion: Jaxton aka Jax; brother: Howard D. McCondichie (Nadene) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nephews: DeMarco Howard and Marques Sutton, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; special aunts: Vivian Dotson-Jones of Jefferson City and Betty Porter of Columbia; and numerous other family members and friends. Donna is preceded in death by her parents and brother: Hugh Stapleton. An Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Ritual Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Second Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Second Baptist Church. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the family of Donna Cayer.
