Stanley B. Bondurant

Stanley B. "Stan" Bondurant, 70, of Jefferson City, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at Capital Region Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born on December 12, 1948 in Jefferson City, a son of Buford and Lavenia (Pfeffer) Bondurant, who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Eileen Poettgen on August 5, 1970 in Jefferson City. He was a 1966 graduate of Helias High School and attended Linn Technical School. His occupation and love was farming in the Cole Junction bottom lands. He also worked full time at Central Dairy as a truck driver. He worked part time in the winter at George Schulte Excavating, Lindsey Surveying at Central Missouri Vault while continuing to farm. Stan liked to sing and wrote a song called "Cole Junction Function". Stan loved to dance until his stroke in 1998 that kept him from it. He was a member of Knights of Columbus in Taos and the American Legion Post 5. Stan served in the Army Reserves for six years. He was also a very proud member of the Happy Achievers, which is a stroke support group. Stan is survived by his wife of almost 49 years: Eileen; the wonderful father of two sons: Steve Bondurant of Auxvasse and Darin Bondurant (Jaime) of Jefferson City; brothers: Jerry Bondurant (Kay), Ed Bondurant (Lisa); grandchildren: Tyler Bondurant, Ben Bondurant and Lia Bondurant; and in-laws, Jeanne Fick, Ramona Poettgen, Joan Poettgen, Marilyn Poettgen, Harry and Mary Poettgen and Ralph and Susan Poettgen. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Mid Missouri Samaritan Center, 1310 E. McCarty St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.
