Donald Earl Durham

Donald Earl "Don" Durham, age 82, of Tazewell, Va., died Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at his home. Born September 10, 1936 at Jefferson City, Mo., he was a son of the late Forrest J. Durham and Alvina Finnell Durham. He was a longtime and active member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Tazewell, Va. and was a member of Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree. Don dearly loved his daily participation at Appalachian Agency for Senior Citizens (PACE program). The agency staff was enormously supportive during Don's brief illness. Another of Don's pleasures was watching old TV westerns, football and softball. He is survived by his devoted sister, Mary J. Blankenship and husband Jared of Tazewell, Va.; nephew, Chris Blankenship and his wife Tina and their children, Nick Blankenship, Natasha Crouse and husband Dylan; Janie Blankenship and her husband Kyle and their children, T.K. Ruble, IV and Jewel Lee Ruble; his special family at AASC PACE at Wardell, Va.; special friend, Carolina Ferrare; and his lovable cat, Tucker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother in law, Robert Allan Blankenship. The family received friends 6-8 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2019 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, Va. A Celebration of Life Mass was conducted Saturday, July 13, 2019 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church at Tazewell, Va. with Father Eric Anokye officiating. Committal service and interment will be conducted at 3 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2019 in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum at Jefferson City, Mo. with Father Jeremy Secrest officiating.
