Ronald Eugene Lapp Jr., 55, of Fulton, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 14, 2019. He was born on May 7, 1964, in Jefferson City, the son of Ronald Lapp Sr. and Linda (Eaker) Bailey. Ron was united in marriage to Karen (Jaegers) Lapp on May 11, 1985. She survives his passing. Ron was employed as an Electronic Tech at Fulton State Hospital. He was an active member of Local AFSCME and held several positions in the organization. He was previously employed as Operations Manager at Alliance Enterprises, Director of Security and Public Safety at John Q. Hammons Hotels, and Director of Emergency Medical Services for Callaway County EMS. Ron was passionate about his work and embodies the can-do spirit. Once he put his mind to a task, he could accomplish anything. He loved spending time outdoors, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. Ron had a generous nature and could always be counted on to help anyone in need. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife, Karen; father, Ronald Lapp Sr. of Fulton; mother, Linda Bailey (Bob) of Fulton; sons, Michael Lapp of Fulton, and Jarryd Lapp (Rachael) of O'Fallon; and grandchildren, Arya and Theodore Lapp. Ron was preceded in death by his sister, Melanie Lapp-Wille. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Deacon Ric Telthorst officiating. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at the funeral home.
