James Joseph Luebbert

James Joseph Luebbert, 79, of Jefferson City, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Capital Region Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 26, 1939, in Jefferson City, a son of Raymond and Clara (Finke) Luebbert. He was united in marriage to Ramona (Hofstetter) on November 21, 1959, in California, Missouri. James attended and graduated from St. Peter's Interparish School then later worked at Von Hoffmann Press from 1957 to 1983. James worked at State Printing for a few years before he became an active volunteer for the Missouri Catholic Conference. He was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. James had a passion for the outdoors, he loved crappie fishing and working out in the yard. He was an avid Cardinals fan and adored spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife: Ramona; children: Kent Luebbert (Nicki) of Jamestown, Shelle Sandbothe (Kenny) of Taos and Craig Luebbert (Brenda) of Lee's Summit; brother: Sam Luebbert (Sharon) of Jefferson City; sister-in-law: Mary Ann Luebbert; six grandchildren: Aaron Sandbothe, Josh (Cara) Sandbothe, Jammie Moayer (Alex), Courtney Luebbert, Seth Luebbert and Darrell (Karen) Luebbert; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Raymond Jr. Friends will be received from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Duncan officiating. Entombment will follow at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Heart Association.
